  • I do believe that Quinns set of suggested guidelines work fairly neatly into gentle conversation but, also believe there is a a time when certain shit just becomes paramount and demands a certain approach. Meaning, approaches of which are individual, passionate, and delivered with the power and might that are demanded of them. Are they the most effective? Perhaps not. Are they remembered? Perhaps. Will they be remembered enough to be reflected upon if future information provides? I think YES!

  • I think I see what you're saying. Again, this is just advise. Do desperate times always call for desperate measures? I guess, as some last resort. This revolution is a different type where people need to live it, walk the walk and create the debate. In public view. If someone won't let me grow a garden. I'm going to do it anyway. I'll make a big stink about it. So far, I've been able to live without any such drama. Doing it unscathed has inspirational value too.

  • i just read that book and I forgot that part, thanks for reminding me about that

  • I think it's possible that since it's at the end of the book it gets forgotten because people are in a rush to finish it. Maybe.

  • Thankyou for this.

I haven't read that one yet but I will put it in my list.

I have problems with people comming up with the crazy ideas of why we should keep destroying the planet.

The most recent. humans came from evolution, we evolved into the creatures we are, and therefore this destruction is natural.

    Another:

The dinosaurs destroyed things too and went extinct (this was just stupid, animals consume we don't)

-this is for you said if you ever read this, you have the most crazy ideas of life

  • I'd love to hear what you think of B.C. when you're finished. Meadowlark, my coffee shop, wouldn't be what it is without B.C.'s influence.

  • I did not get it either until recently. It took reading Daniel Quinns book Ishmael to open my eyes to the ideas. So, I recommend to you the book Ishmael.

Also, the goal is not to END civilization; it is to move BEYOND civilization. What is known today as civilization will still be here, but for many people, an increasing number, there are alternative cultures that may bring better quality of life.

    Rex out..

  • Am I misinterpreting your comment, you are sounding like you'd like to end civilisation. What do you have in mind? Also, generally, it strikes me that we are mostly all pawns... yet that we also have power collectively due to our influence in our closest relationships to change the normal behaviour and improve it.

  • There are examples of successful resistance. Jesus overthrew the hierarchical legalism... Ghandi too was successful. Apparently Finland (?) successfully and peacefully resisted the Nazi's invasion. Aspire to be the kind of person who is both peaceful and respected... and able to set boundaries.

  • "It's always better to say 'I don't know' than fake it and get into hot water." I can relate to that one. While growing up, my parents rarely said "I don't know", and gave me some kind of answer too many of my questions, and I look back now and realize most of it was wrong. I've wondered if they really thought those were the answers or they wanted to give an answer cause saying "I don't know" would make them look dumb. I still don't know.

  • this is where it gets tricky.

    i will defend myself.

my picket pin/stake is planted near the gardens i have created...be it in indiana or alabama.

i've spent too much of my life in jail, already. (for being an irresponsible alcoholic) it would kill me to be locked up, again...so i will keep that in mind, if a "situation" ever arises.

  • "Don't waste time with people who only want to argue..."

Thanks Adam! Thank you very much!

  • When you remove yourself from the grocery stores and dollar bills, what happens when they force it upon you or with the option of buy our shit, or go to jail? . When it is illegal to grow a home garden, store seeds, grow organically. Then what? I agree with you, I merely state, at some fucking point, Pawns fall. They must. I see no other way around it. Bet you ass pawns on our side will be falling. No one is just handing over the reigns on this one

  • any target that doesn't harm a living being is cool with me.

my aim/goal/focus is to simply abandon said system. i think grocery stores and dollar bills are worse than crack cocaine...more dangerous, because so very few see their danger.
