1996, December
Racoon Forest.
Alpha Team is flying around....
What a great year 1996 was for videogames.
Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider, Dead Or Alive, Mega Man 8 (well that's me), Super Mario 64 and a couple of other games.
Many new franchises were founded in '96.
Not only did Mario go 3D, the Playstation opened the doors for many new franchises like Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider and of course Resident Evil.
It was the latter one that took me most by surprise.
I realized I had entered a whole new era of gaming, more and more focusing on adolescent and adult gamers.
The first time I played Resident Evil was at a friend's house in december of '96.
Little did we know what was awaiting us.
The game scared the fuck out of us.
Some time later in '97 I finally got the chance to play it through, ... "alone and in the dark" (reference?).
I never thought I'd get scared at a game.
The moment I entered the save room was like a liberation, all the tention had gone away in one moment, bringing one back to calm.
That's why, I guess, hte save room tune remained in my mind for so long. One of my favorites from the Resident Evil Soundtrack, the atmosphere is really one of a kind and fits perfectly in those moments, I love it.
It's been quite some time I uploaded something, but I didn't have the time lately.
This was recorded quite some years ago, can't tell you when exactly.
Just showing a sign of life I guess.
I'm still working on several remixes
(Megaman, Axelay, Turtles In Time, etc.) and own compositions, but it takes time.
I plan to release a new remix before the end of next month, but I can't promise.
But I do think that on Christmas most of the stuff will be up here on YT.
P.S.: Please stop asking for tabs.
I don't have any (good) tabs, tabs are overrated!!!
Do you think Jimmy Page or Jimi Hendrix or Malmsteen or whoever got his hands on tabs back then?
Well, how did they become so big then?
Through ear training!! I can understand that tabs help
but I see most people relying on it too much.
metalltool u made this theme reborn somehow, yet the way u did made this save theme just a bit more great experience! keep up the good work ;-) srry fer my bad english :-P

Good to know you're still alive 'n kicking! You still have some AceCombat 2 tracks to do, your life (and mine) shall not be complete without them! ;)

Nice rendition. I had a similar experience with the first Resident Evil, me and a friend rented the game for the weekend, we didn't know what the game was all about, the cover doesn't show much and the stuff in the back was all scraped off... hah, for weeks we would have nightmares with devilish dogs breaking through the windows, corpses coming to life and big, mutated hunters lol.
