My first Dr WHO was the scene of Tom Baker popping out of the TARDIS in different costumes, on American PBS in the late 70's. I was not impressed and about to change channels soon afterward, as the show seemed goofy and incomprehensible to me at that moment.

BUT, the cute little brunette in the blue dress was so enchanting, that I kept watching. It was Elisabeth Sladen who pulled me into WHO. I finally got used to Tom Baker, because of her! The best era Tom Baker had was with Lis Sladen.
