I disagree. There were the same grumblings when Adam played Freddie in two "Chess" concert benefits, as well as the Emcee in "Cabaret - the Revival". Yet, he proved the nay-sayers wrong and played the roles exceptionally well.
For being sprung on him, I think he sang "Music of the Night" quite well. It's a difficult song to sing. If he were given any rehersal time with the song (and the show), he could easily surpass the other actors I've seen in this role.

@procrastin8r89 Isn't he a sweetheart? I met him once, just kind of ran into him on the street and went "oh wow!" and started chatting. He offered pics and autographs to us (we didn't have to feel intrusive by asking) and then he offered suggestions for restaraunts for dinner. lol. He's such an incredible man, speaking in terms of acting, singing and personality.
