Promotional flash animation for Visiting Artist Program at Fashion Institute of Technology.
THIS ANIMATION WAS EXHIBITED IN THE NATIONAL ONE CLUB STUDENT EXHIBITION
The Visiting Artist Program is an on-going lecture series that brings distinguished designers together with students, faculty, and design professionals in a public forum.
Problem: students think that this lectures are just another class and feel like it's a waste of time.
My solution: create a piece that will stimulate students' imagination and show that this lectures are source for inspiration. Every single object, every scene in this animation is a symbolic representation of student's life. For example a fly is a symbol of death rebirth, cycle of life, rejuvenation. Abbreviation SSDD stands for "same sh*t, different day"; this is the phrase so familiar to the students who are just trying to survive the load of homework.
My animation invites students to develop their own interpretation. It makes them ask questions, look deeper and get inspired.
