Levin G 75 1931 - Vintage guitar banjo!!

Just for fun my friends, I'd like to present some of the vintage acoustic instruments that I collect. A swedish brand called "LEVIN"
Was named Goya in the US..

I got a WHOLE lot of these old ones and I'll post a video here now and then..

On 27 July 1900, Herman Carlson Levin began building his wonderful stringed instruments in a small workshop in Gothenburg. My great passion is collecting these instruments that, to my eyes (and ears), were some of the best guitars ever built..

Certainly, many people today know of Levin for its fine old arch-top guitars or its plainer and not quite so fine-sounding beginners' instruments from the 50s and 60s. But long before this, Levin was top of its class in Europe and other parts of the world. It already achieved a high-point as an instrument maker at the 1907 World's Fair in Madrid, where it won the gold medal for the best guitar. Remember, this was in the Spanish guitar builders' home territory. Not only that, Levin was awarded the exhibition's Grand Prix.

  • @clwacdc I play guitar and 5-string banjo. I suggest you go for actual banjo not guitar banjo. That way you'll get the banjo perspective for making music and turn off your guitar aproach. The result is lot of new kinds of ideas, plus you find more interesting banjo notes/tabs for 5-string banjo. Bottom line is learning a new instrument not a same one with funnier sound ;-) I hope this makes some sense. Nothing against these guitar banjos though. New sound inspires new ideas too.

  • I can't get enough of bluegrass, which of course has sparked an interest in banjos...being a guitar player, I feel it would be pretty easy to switch over to a five-stringer...of course, I may just get a guitjo like you have, it sounds pretty good and the switch in instruments would be seamless (they're tuned the same, correct?)...I guess what I'm tryin' to say is awesome playing, you've inspired me...

  • I love the "pinging" sound of this banjo! it really sounds like it's from the far south. It's a great instrument - played by a great musician - playing a great tune! Awesome ;)

  • Lord!!!

I would play Green River in this banjo/guitar.

  • As solid as a warickshire shit house! awesome!

  • awesome!!! :D
