  • The Beasties werent the first to go platinum. That was Run Dmc.And if album sales mattered about who was the best then mc hammer would be number 1.Beasties are the shit though, but rhyme for rhyme 3rd bass took down most crews

  • The Beastie Boys were the first rap/hip-hop group to ever go platinum.

Licensed To Ill - 9 Times Platinum

    Paul's Boutique - 2 Times Platinum

Check Your Head - 2 Times Platinum

Ill Communication - 3 Times Platinum

Hello Nasty - 3 Times Platinum

To The 5 Boroughs - Platinum

The Mix-Up - To Be Released

Don't tell me that they were not innovators of rap. Paul's Boutique was one of the most influental albums of all time.

  • check ur knowledge man.Run Dmc's Raising Hell was first rap album to go platinum.certified february '86.Licensed to Ill first rap album to top the charts.

  • they were good but prior to eminem the only true white rappers to gain respect have to be house of pain. beasties werent like real real hip hop you know

  • Beasties werent real hip hop...u didnt say that duke...legends in Hip Hop,nuff said

  • I don't know why you've got so much hate for Serch. Wouldn't you rather have his music in the charts, than idiots like 50 Cent and Soulja Boy?

  • I can't wait till next March so I can say "Go spring break go spring break go!"

  • @heyitsmekyle15 Actually, as well as this, if you think 3rd Bass were a joke, then forget Nas (even "You Owe Me" and "Oochie Wally" which based on your reckoning would be his best work) and OC. Neither of them without MC Serch.

The Beastie Boys are overrated. Self-important rock fans wil tell you that the Beastie Boys and Public Enemy are the only hip-hop groups that mattter. Bzzt! Guess again. The Beasties' most popular stuff was rock, not hip-hop, and as rappers, they're mediocre at best.

  • Actually, sales don't make the artist. If many stupid people buy the records of a crap artist, that means the artist has made the effort to aim for the charts by simplifying their music, rather than that their content is better. Is Britney Spears better than Bob Dylan based on her record sales? Nope. It's all personal taste, but whatever the current crop of rubbish, lackadaisical Jay-Z led rappers say, sales don't mean squat in a genre defined by credibility.

  • @xsupermodel87 you're retarded.. get educated.

  • Man.. These arguments about 3rd Bass vs. Beasties are so fuckin' geigh.. 3B is dope.. Beasties are dope.. Who the fuck cares about sales.. A good track is a good track.. I love the Beasties, they're one of my all time favs, but if you tell me they're good because of sales, then get the fuck of the boat 'cause you know nothing..

  • When I see or hear utter crap like this, I appreciate the great early 90's grunge bands even more.

  • Only Serch would wear a black hooded sweatshirt on the beach at Daytona

  • Couldn't have said it better myself. One of the best comments I've ever seen on youtube.

  • i love when they perform this

  • damn i wish rappers still danced
