St. Louis County, Minnesota, Code of Conduct, Dennis Fink, Keith Nelson, Mike Forsman. County Attorney Ford informs the County Commissioners that the code proposed by Nelson does not address the needs of the county.
The county needs a code in place to protect the county from liability brought by County Commissioner Behavior. Suits resulting from their behavior issues result in claims against the county and settlements that the people must pay.
In order to protect the county we must have a code in place that sets forth a specifics, not simply proposes that we do things on a case by case basis.
