paul dano's one of the many young actors that belongs to a brand of awkward theatre. his film presence is uncomfortable, and his audience is always painfully aware of that.

He sucked in There Will Be Blood. I can't decide if it was because he was genuinely bad, or because Daniel Day Lewis was so extraordinary.
