Moderator completely debunked this discussion for me. Feels like Mr Williams hardly got the chance to interact with Mr Dawkins. Shame

No one has proven how life began, therefore I do not know how life began. That is how I see it. If christianity had a body of credible evidence to back it up I would believe it.

In response to Kenny's question whether human failure is down to human original sin, Rowan hisses "Ysssss",making a fair impersonation of the Serpent in the garden of Eden. Note dying fly, we never see God and the Serpent together in the garden. It makes you wonder.........

Rowan Williams says he accepts 21st century physics yet reserves the right to go back to Genesis for his "moral compass". At 1.09 this turns out to mean a belief in original sin and the fact that from the outset humans made a conspicuous mess of things. This is a cruel and narrow doctrinal concept. Is God not responsible for his own inadequacy?

Evidence and bad evidence at that, certainly not proof.

Rowan Williams seems shockingly ignorant about basic computer science.

"There is no evidence for God apart from ancient texts."

I think you should carefully what those texts are saying and their significance before you dismiss them as evidence.

58:10 "There has to be a kind of protogenetics before there is life." In other words, there has to be life before there is life! That's evolution for you! Protogenetics are alive. Where did there life come from? Life... from non life?? Or life from life?? What makes sense? Does evolutionisn or Christianity provide the common-sense-truth of that question?

The priest was doing fine until he said at 41:58 that saying there was a time when there was a first human being is problematic on all sorts of levels. WHAT?? This is a Christian priest?? Before that RD pointed out that the Pope believes that(God created Adam) and then the priest indirectly denied it.

At 50:10 RD talks about a laryngeal nerve supposedly proving an imperfection in the human body's design. What misinformation he doops peopl with: (remove spaces)
