This is a tutorial on how to remove the eyeshadow pans from the MAC containers to put into an eyeshadow palette. With this method, you don't warp the plastic the pan it comes out of so you can replace the metal pan with one from Coastal Scents or eBay and still be able to return the empty container for the back-to-MAC program. These are the tools you'll need:

- Hair flat iron
- Dull knife (can use scissors or metal nail file)
- Scissors
- Pin (can use thumb tack, paper clip or safety pin)
- Pen
- Craft Magnet with adhesive backing
- Piece of aluminum foil
- Old (but clean!) towel or papertowel
- Alcohol swabs or cotton balls and rubbing alcohol
- MAC eyeshadow in a container
- MAC Pro Palette

The palettes can be bought at MAC stores, they are not available at MAC counters, such as the ones in Macy's or the ones in Malls that are free-standing but still say Macy's. If you don't have a MAC store near you, you can buy them on eBay.

  • @PrettyTips - hi, thank you for posting such an informative and helpful video...now, I was just wondering what color MAC shadow it was that you used for the taping of this tutorial...thanks again!

  • @b017ni3 Hi, I'm not sure if this particular colour was discontinued, but the eyeshadow I used is "Glamour Check!"

  • AHHH thank you so much. I went to mac and bought a pallet and the lady was so bitchy and told me that I shouldn't do that, that it'd be a bad idea, and that I should buy new colors instead. I tried to get one of my shadows out, but it didn't work, so I ended up taking it back. But now I'm gonna go buy it again and do this! :D

  • @meaniemaelily Glad the video helped!

  • The MAC 15 eyeshadow empty palettes/eyeshadow holders are more beneficial if you remove the black divider. You can only fit 15, but If you remove the divider you can neatly fit 26 eyeshadows instead :]

  • @sandylovesmakeup Great tip! Definitely useful if you have a lot of eyeshadows!

  • Great video!!! Once the shadows are depotted can the containers be retuned to Mac without the metal containers in it? Can you return the metal container holding the shadow for the back 2 Mac program?
