Ashley Porting explains how Columbia College has helped her grow to be a greater person.

My mom said, when I was you know looking at colleges "Have you thought about Columbia College? I think it'd be a great fit for you?" So, you know, I went on a tour and fell in love with it. Columbia College is a small campus, but because it's so small you have so many opportunities that you wouldn't have anywhere else. It was absolutely a beautiful campus and I learned about the DayStar program then I fell in love, so I just knew that was where I had to go. With the DayStar program you get your undergrad done in three years a then your fourth year is your masters. Everyone who works there, is really there for the students. I've been given so much here at Columbia College I've been given opportunities that I would never have gotten anywhere else. I got accepted into the Emerging Leaders Institute program and it's a leadership program that's based over three semesters and it's really hands on. The third semester they pair you up with a mentor from the community and mine was the assistant super intendant of Columbia Public Schools. Columbia College has helped me grow to be a greater person. I love it, yeah.
