Congressman Lungren, using bipartisan language from former Judiciary Chairman Jack Brooks (D-TX), introduced an amendment which passed out of the Judiciary Committee with unanimous support to strengthen consumer protections in repealing anti-trust immunity for health insurance. Unfortunately, this language was taken out of the final version of the bill. As Lungren stated on the House floor, "I support this effort. I am trying to make it better."
