Here is a retired Chesapeake Bay Waterman showing his expert technique to making a net for crabbing on the bay. It is an age old craft that is dwindling as is the commercial fishing on the bay. He no longer makes these, but if you would like one made just like this one, I can hook you up with a fellow that learned from Mr Roe. Send me a message if you are interested.

  • @castuckey **The distance between the 2 posts for a 3inch mesh net using a one and one quarter inch ring is 3 inches. The ring is made from number 4 copper ground wire wraped around a 1 inch pipe with the ends soldered togeather.
