  • I'd be willing to bet this thing gets better fuel economy with the modern V8 than it does with the M30 it's replacing...and the M30 is hardly high tech anymore. Maybe lighter, too.

Still, part of me cringes a little bit. The big six is one of the most durable engines ever made and is definitely a lot classier than the LS v8s. OTOH, I'd change my tune if I got a chance to drive it, I'm sure. :)

    Awesome.

  • Well worth the wait!!! Great Work Wayne.

  • That was a very long time in the making... LS motors are excellent and the thing is probably pretty quick, too. An easy one woulda been an older LT1 with a 700r4 trans. Do an after market fuel injection or a carburetor setup. Check engine light works you said? No thanks... I don't give a crap if the #5 cylinder has a misfire and then the friggin motor goes into limp mode. Drive by wire is a crummy idea too..

  • you ripped its hert out and took a shit in the hole. : (

  • I did the same thing to my 89 535i which now bears the name 557i.

Search LS1 BMW 2 here in youtube.

    View both videos.

  • and what about fitting the transmission with the rest of the bmw rear wheel drive ? is it bolt-on ? probably not ! should do more segments about thoses specifications .. thanks

  • he didn'T talk about the transmission clearance issues !? what about the chop cut and rebuilt of the transmission tunnel ?! no pics no nothing.. about fitting the shifter in the right place (sizing and other stuff ya know what im saying..)

  • that is a best!!

  • I have 2 E28's. You are giving me wild and crazy thoughts of making some hot rod bricks. Nice work Wayne! Make a new video soon.

  • Yes, could you show the car driving in daylight, maybe some shots of it flying by!

    Good job though!

  • Any chance of an update? Winter is coming, time to finish up this project :)
