"James At 16" (1978) opening. James, a daydreamer and photographer, must learn to cope with life as his father moves the family from Oregon to Boston MA. Though there is much humor here, the series dealt with many serious problems (teenage alcoholism, virginity, pregnancy, venereal disease). Stars; Lance Kerwin as James Hunter, Linden Chiles as Alan Hunter, Lynn Carlin as Meg Hunter, Kim Richards as Sandy Hunter, Deirdre Berthrong as Kathy Hunter, David Raynr as Ludwig "Sly" Hazeltine (as David Hubbard), Susan Myers as Marlene Mahoney, Jack Knight as Mr. Shamley.

  • television used to be sooo exciting--now its all this sex all over the screen-somethings need to be left to the imagination--and i'm sick of reality shows featuring pretty people with no talent--it is so boring--who thinks up these stupid shit

  • Kim Richards sure turned out to be a nice, upstanding citizen.

  • @melollylolly exactly right!!! ;) but, there are also alot of ugly-ass people on these reality shows, too! lol!!

  • @Bubbajomama There you go. Sounds like a great idea to me!

  • Wish someone had a copy of "The Gift" episode, I fell in love with the Swedish girl played by Kirsten Baker

  • @Bubbajomama james never made 17!

  • Kim Richards, now on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

  • I loved this show when it aired.

  • This show was so great. I'm the same age as Lance and I kind of looked at the show for advice on girls or whatever problems he might have faced. Too many of these good shows went off too fast. I wish I could see it on dvd a few times. I remember a great scene with a sleeping bag involved and Clapton's "Lay Down Sally being played.

  • Its too bad this show only lasted a short time and disappeared. It was a well written show with terrific actors and really true to life stories. No show today is anywhere close to this good show. Its too bad Lance Kerwin never made it as an actor because he sure had the looks (All the girls were crazy about him), and the talent. A total boy next door actor that was very likeable. I guess its the usual story: talented child actor with lots of money gets into the party scene, takes drugs & crashes
