This was the beginning of the first of 7 scheduled pours that day. The first truck was late and got stuck. So he had to wait for the second truck, which was also 20 minutes late, to pull him out. The pour timing was critical as they had 1.5 percent chloride in the fiber mix to shorten the cure time. They had a 40 by 64 foot slab and two 40 by 20 foot aprons to pour in one day. Equipment failures also plagued the task. Randy and his team worked their tails off from daylight until well past 9 PM that night.
Would have been a lot easier with a pump truck
