I take a quick look at the new XBMC 11.0 Eden release!
XBMC is an award-winning free and open source (GPL) software media player and entertainment hub for digital media. XBMC is available for Linux, OSX, and Windows. Created in 2003 by a group of like minded programmers, XBMC is a non-profit project run and developed by volunteers located around the world. More than 50 software developers have contributed to XBMC, and 100-plus translators have worked to expand its reach, making it available in more than 30 languages.

At the moment, Ubuntu 12.04. :-)

Available as a complete op sys; installed onto my multi-boot PC & had to wipe that XMBC partition!

Wii wireless controls should work, theoretically.

If in Hobart (weather), you should have been the first state in Australia to get very fast fiber-optic broadband to your home. True? Most others in AU are still waiting ... unless the conservative politicians outsource & destroy our national broadband network.

If you have fiber optic, interested in how it affects your internet.

I'm actually in Launceston, the weather app was based off the ISPs IP, which is Internode in Hobart. And I wish I had the fiber-optic soooo bad, but it won't be in Launceston for another year. :-(

Just removed Win 8 to reinstall Ubuntu 12.04; this OS rocks and will need to to feed the Ubuntu brood with a donation.

We installed xbmc onto a zbox and the zbox has a browser. We have an xbox too, but use the zbox as our main media center, since we can access our huluplus and netflix through it as well. Plus we hooked up an antenna directly to our tv and get several of the local channels. We did hook it up to hdhomerun so we could also have a dvr, but that didn't work. We think there is something wrong the the hdhomerun that we bought, so we're going to exchange it.
