Rand Paul, son of Rep. Ron Paul and 2010 Senatorial candidate, discusses the war in Afghanistan, reducing corruption by making lobbying and bidding on government contracts mutually exclusive, the excess federal authority derived from the commerce clause, prosecutions of Bush administration officials for war crimes and the need for withdrawal from Iraq.

  • the truth is, there is no war. osama is already dead (since late 2001). "al-qaeda" is a farce created by the cia. regardless it's not our problem. they have no nuclear weapons unless we supplied them to (iraq, iran, israel.) stop the madness, focus on the recovery of the constitution.

  • I have to say I admire Rand for saying he would have voted for the war in Afghanistan on the Taliban on antiwar radio. Shows me he has the guts needed to be a good senator, not just a political "whore" like many politicians who try to appease everybody. I agree with him too, I just don't like the fruitless nation building which ensued and our endless war there. I don't see any good reason to be there now. We aren't going to magically fix the nation, just look at our nation.Nothing can be perfect

  • I might have misunderstood. But, Rand seemed to imply there might be legal reasons you can not put a president on trial for their criminal actions? Or was he speaking moral? His opinion was he would not want to put Bush on trial?

Are you fucking kidding me? He does not desire to hold politicians/presidents accountable? Obama made similar comments didn't he? I do not really understand it.... Not even thinking of torture. If this war is illegal if the president is not accountable then who

  • I think Rand should listen to his dad more on foreign policy.

  • I hope the more I hear of Rand the more I don't dislike the things he says. In terms of the last administration he's surely missing the mark on war and torture.

  • how would it not be good for country to go after dick and bush for crimes against humanity?

  • Run Rand Run!
