Removing a rattlesnake on the bike trail along C-470 and Green Mountain at Golden, Colorado

On the last afternoon of August I was cycling around my neighborhood when I discovered this rattlesnake on the bike path along C-470 and Green Mountain. Since there were no branches or sticks around I attempted to gently persuade the creature to leave the path before somebody ran over it. Turns out I was successful despite trying to not get bit, push my bike, and video record all at the same time!

Thank you. Unfortunately I'm in agreement with you as I've seen people intentionally kill rattlesnakes and other wildlife when these poor creatures weren't threatening anyone. We need to keep doing the right thing - thanks for your support!

Your a good person for actually caring about the snake. There needs to be more people like you around where I live. Everybody here except for myself, trys to kill them. Good vid.

@zeekzilch Your very welcome, I've got an infant cottonmouth right now and Im waiting for my girlfriend to get here to help film. The young ones look really cool with little neon greenish tails. It'll be released back to the same habitat I found it at once we're done filming. Thanks for the comment as well, my goal is to give people a good look at whats out there. To show how beautiful these animals are.

Thanks for your interesting note about your Centennial Cone encounter! I think rattle snakes want us big creatures to keep from crushing them so that's why they rattle so much. Just my guess though!
