I LOVED niner-Two. I'd also love to have a recording of it or a video. That is a gret chart.

Hey! The drumline had the hardest marching drill!! LOL :o)

I wrote that 9/2 arrangement. It was actually called "Niner-Two". It was an old Don Ellis number. Did you know that Wilcox is currently (October '08) back in Japan?

John! good to find you again... i posted below.
Hey are you going to homecoming this year? I am making the trip in from Japan. Hope you are there.

JJ Jackman!~!!
Yes it still brings chills man! I even remember the exact place I was in the tuba section too! I will never forget when we did the VT show either. THAT is one I want to see on YouTube.
John, are you still in NH? I am back in Japan again.
Dan Traugh! Of course we remember you!
Randy
PS: anyone doing homecoming this year? I am going for sure...I get the longest distance traveled award, hands down!

Oh my...I remember this as if it were yesterday! Of course I had chills then and I have chills now watching it as I was the tuba section leader in 1983. We were the "barn doors"! Doing it at Virginia Tech in 81 or 82 was the most incredible feeling to nail the rotation and to see everyone stay in their seats when we performed this the first time and get a standing ovation by the entire stadium! That was a real compliment to the band being at an away game. JJ

Pretty sure it was Ken Ozello (now dir of bands at Alabama) that drew up this drill. Good playing band that year in particular and the next, my junior and senior years. Biased of course. LOL.

Amazing!

I think the rotation in this show is probably the most impressive one I've ever seen the band do.
Who are you and where are you getting this oldER stuff? I was a graduate assistant with the band in 1981. My wife followed me a year later.
