I love the irrony of making the usefull civil servants pay for the bad management of the money they got for the State. Why does anyone let politicians, with no business experience or too much of it (in the greed sense), handle extraordinary sums of money anyways ?

This ignores the fact that pensions are the firefighters and police trust fund and is not and can not be considered as part of the city's assets to be considered in any bankruptcy proceedings. It's the firefighters/police property and the city is merely the trustee. It's a bluff. This is a clear conspiracy to commit theft on the part of the city and the courts. We need to get the names and addresses of these city council felons, the city manager and any judges involved and post them here.

Firefighters and police officers protect the lives and properties of the taxpayers whom they were appointed to serve. Their jobs are tough and dangerous. Central Falls admits that their present financial crisis was NOT the fault of the firefighters and police officers. Most likely it was gross fiscal mismanagement by the political establishment over the course of many years. Message: Don't try to blackmail your retired firefighters and cops into helping you correct your mistakes.
