When Bob McGrath of Sesame Street was in Vancouver last month for the Show of Hearts Telethon, he did a couple of radio programs to promote the cause. One of them, On the Record at a classic rock station, asks guests to bring their own vinyl playlists.
Bob brought one of his Japanese recordings, but they only played a snippet of it—so here it is, 荒城の月 Moon Over the Ruined Castle (Koujou No Tsuki), which Bob says is "almost like the Danny Boy of Japan." Music by Rentaro Taki, lyrics by Bansui Doi (Tsutsii). Released on the 1966 CBS Japan LP Home Sweet Home YS-593-C.
