Absolutely wrong, the founding fathers were totally against democracy, aka mob rule, they set the gov up as a constitutional republic. Article 1 Section 8 gives Congress NO authority to do anything in marriage, so it is a state issue.
You have no right to stop a voluntary transaction, if you think so, you are a fundementalist statist.
Your must think that it is ok for the gov to ban everything.
Have fun supporting Sharia law.

@RyanR3volution-where to start- ok, again you're wrong ! The US government and its principalities (every government in the world, in fact) have the 'right' and authority to establish statues, laws and procedures regarding all civil procedures including marriage laws. Hope that helps and good luck to you trying to live in the republic of RyanR3volution where you mistakenly think you can make up the rules as you go along and everyone must get on board. Doesn't work like that here in the USA thoug

What? Impose gay marriage? Ugh... you don't seem to understand that the gov has no right to be in marriage. I believe in the seperation of marriage and the state in the Constitution.
You have no right to stop voluntary adults from entering into a contract.
No victim, no crime.
This is not a democracy, this is not mob rule.

@RyanR3volution - yup, I understand what I am saying, and perhaps you shd question what you 'think' you 'believe'. If for example, the nation attempts to start an evil war, wrongly imprison fellow citizens or to impose gay marriage on me (the nation) those are things I certainly have a RIGHT not simply to diaagree with, but to strongly oppose in action and advocacy.
-
haha, do you even understand what your saying?
Just because you do not agree with something gives you no right to go out and infringe on others rights. Don't like gay marriage? Don't get one.
What does "accept questionable behavoirs" mean?
No victim no crime, you have no right to violently interfere in others lives. Gays have no right to infringe on your rights and you have no right to infringe on their rights. I beleive in Capitalism and voluntaryism, take your statism outta here
-
@RyanR3volution -yes, I do.... Peoples' "rights" are regularly and legally 'infringed on' ( i.e., restricted and modified all the time). You have no right to think or expect that most people share your narrow, questionable view of what constitutes the social good and what is the best course of action and values for everyone else in this diverse society. No one has to accept questionable behaviors just because you are to unwise to see the larger , potentially damaging outcomes
-
No you do not have any right to infringe on the rights of others, even if it is through government. That does not change the matter of fact that you are still infringing on the rights of others.
You cannot grant a right you do not have, you have no right to infringe on others.
-
That is absolute nonsense, you have no right to keep others from volutnarily entering into a contract because you disagree with the contract.
The Bible means absolutely nothing to me, as it is filth and lunacy to be so naive to think a book written before modern science holds the skeleton key to the world.
Society? There is no such thing as society, there are only individuals.
You have absolutely no right to tell others what to do.
Clinton is the only candidate who marches in gay pride parades and is voluntarily vocal on gay issues. Obama can say what he wants but he won't make it a priority like Hillary will. She's the only one who worked against the defense of marriage act. She acts. Unbelievable that any gay person would be skeptical that she is the best candidate.

As vague and wishy-washy her answers were, her history speaks for itself and I feel if she were president, hell of a lot more would've been done already for gay rights. Obama's done jack shit, and doesn't even care.
