I was in Haiti in May 2011 for a 5 day scouting trip for my wife and I's year-long volunteer trip. I shot this video on the way from the airport. We were driving south towards Jacmel.

  • I thought they said haiti had no trees...

  • @becca5584 I know right...well there are a lot of trees, just now the thick forests that once covered the island. But that is how it is in most developed areas (even in the US). There are coconut trees, mango trees, bananas, oranges, cherries, breadfruit, and countless other kinds of trees.

  • My husband is in Haiti on a missions trip, thank you for giving me an idea of what he is seeing. God bess you.

  • @soragang Where will he be staying? This video is taken heading South on the main road from the airport in Port-au-Prince.

  • @becca5584 There was a clip I saw on youtube where one of those NGOs' white bitches driving in some poor parts in Port-au-Prince, she stated that Haiti has no flowers & that these poor kids she was filming in the slums will never see a flower in their lives, I almost choked with shock. I know one American lady here who dreams to get an NGO job in Haiti, her main goal is to make money cause she has one too many American friends who are making tons of moneis as NGOs down in Haiti.

  • @becca5584 At one point Haiti was known as "The Pearl of the Caribbean"! After Haiti was done paying France reparation for 100 years in the 1940's great projects were constructed in Port-au-Prince such as the Presidential Palace, The Cathedral etc...Then came the Duvaliers in 1957, to Aristide to US invasions & embargoes THEN THE EARTHQUAKE. No other Islands in the Caribbean were more advanced than Haiti except Cuba. The NGOs will only show you ugly parts to collect more moneis.

  • if you would lie to me and say it's somewhere in Africa I would certainly believe it.

  • Nice bullet hole on the windshield hehe.
