This is a 2005 Ninja 250R stock with no mods being Dyno'd at SDS performance at Dyno night. Lots of bikes, lots of fun! This bike ended up making 26.1hp, not bad for a 250. 250's have seen as high as 28hp on the dyno using the Motoman break-in method.

Someone quotes "Is that burning oil?" in the video.. no.. the bike needs a carb adjustment, badly as it is running rich.

If for some reason you are one of the many people on here who have messaged me wondering why your comment didn't show up it's probably because you said something similar to the following: "That's gay!" "ROFL My friend has a friend who knows someone who can do wheeliezzzzz" or "What a piece of crap"....

Only intelligent and useful comments will be approved as this was posted for that reason. If you don't like it, well, TFB for you.

  • Your like looks stock to me, Is that right, Or have you done any mods to it ? BTW nice run. Thank's in advance, yl

  • @ylism Yes, the bike is stock in this video. It was taken out of winter storage and de-winterized before this run.

  • @koihoshi Like a dummy. I usually read all the info, Before making a comment. Do you still have the bike, How many miles so far. My brother has a yellow 07 Ninja 250r as well, It's for sale, Only has 6-7K miles for $1800.00. Just may buy it from him. Think the 4 gen models look the best, But the 3 gen are faster. Thank's, yl

  • @ylism I do still have my bike, yes, it is for sale though. But I still ride it from time to time. It's been a good bike.

  • Hey. How long does it take to break in the bike using the Dyno?

Anyway, which is better break in using the Dyno or Break in urself at road?

  • @Nauttos I'm sorry but I couldn't tell you the answer on that professionally, this dyno run was for fun. I've heard from many of my track buddies that a dyno break-in is "the best method" but I'm not sure how long it would take. I would think that a dyno method would be preferable since you can measure your results and see the results, whereas breaking it on the street is going to be based on experience of engines, break-in, etc, etc... I'd contact a performance shop for that.

  • With the wind at your back and a slight downhill, maybe 110mph. If I recall, the fastest speed record set with a 250 was someone who TURBOcharged a 250 and got it up to about 125ish. Even the new 250 ninjas max out about the same. On average, with ideal conditions, in a normal setting, even at the track, maybe 100-105ish would be max. Anyone who would say otherwise is likely full of hokey unless they have something to prove it.

  • Why would you want 5 speed? 6 is just so much more fun!

  • @koihoshi They do seem to be great bikes, For starting out , and for cheap fun..yl

  • @kickastang Depends on the shop. The video you see was just a fun run, no sensors hooked up for torque, just hp. We paid $20 for fun runs. Normally a dyno run could run you anywhere from $50-150 it seems, just really depends on the shop. Your best bet is to find a shop that has one and just call up and ask around for prices since it isn't really a set price.

  • How much does it cost to dyno a bike?

  • @MangoSmoothie16 Yep :) just not the same screen name....
