Harley the dog. Bold. Curious. Helpful

This is some video I shot one day at a pal's place in Florida. The dog is Harley (Hi Harley!). When he was still growing up, Harley was a bit mindful of swimming, even though Labradors are built for the water (so I an told... webbed paws and all that). I never got around to putting this together, even though it was percolating in the back of my mind for a couple of years, until I entered a contest sponsored by Interbrand for a video that exemplifies Bold, Curious and Helpful. What better demonstration of those qualities than Man's Best Friend, the dog.

I didn't win. :o(

Ironically the winner of the contest was a video about a cat. A kitten to be exact. I am left thinking "if only I shot video of Harley when he was a small puppy." But after a bit of consideration, Harley, although very cute as a puppy, really can't compete against the cuteness of a kitten. I mean, come'on, a little ball of fluff that is fascinated by string versus a lovable, cute as a button puppy that's all legs and mouth? I think that's why cats have survived throughout the ages; kittens are just too darn cute. Then they grow into cats, and it's too late to do anything about that. You're stuck. With a cat.

With a puppy, though, it grows into a dog. A dog that is loyal, actually shows gratitude and, well, demonstrates affection to you. A cat may feel that way, but rarely shows it. Until feeding time. Then it eats a tiny bit, sniffs the bowl, looks at it sideways like it read the ingredients on the package and walks away, like it doesn't care. A dog will not only eat whatever you put in the bowl, but will probably lick the bowl clean for you, too... even if he didn't like it... because YOU put it there for him. Good Doggie!

Oh, and I've already used this music before, but I needed royalty-free music for this project.....
