Her autobiography was proven to be fabricated, she was proven not to have been lobotomised, and she probably was mentally ill.

right, too bad most of the film is completely inaccurate, Lange would have been as talented with a real story.

These two things did happen, however most of this film is fiction. There was no 'harry york' and she wasn't lobotomized.

I was so obsessed with this film .....can think of so many women who "were" her I was at times.

I so would've suffered the same fate as she had I been alive in her day. Believing in the freedom of speech, writing poetry & the insane idea that I deserve respect even from the police? Yeah, I would've been a goner. Go Francis.

Hi I rarely check this mail otherwise I would have answered sooner. However, I'm not sure I understand your question "which disorder does Lange portray in the film'"? I would understand it to be heightened anxiety coupled with alcoholism. You'll remember they showed her downing booze at the Hotel Knickerbocker. I hope that helps.
