This is a massive exageration/piss take to show the difference between kipping pull ups and proper pull ups.

If you're new to pull ups and are working towards a full range of movement, start with half reps rather than kipping pull ups. Kipping pull ups look messy and there's no point in doing them if you're relying on momentum.

  • lol even strong men like you guys cant do the kipping pull up easily.. i dont know how those who can do till 50 does it.. hahaha proper pull ups are better!!

  • @Noah97 I'd say practice negatives and half reps (bottom-to-middle and middle-to-top). I think it's okay to kick a little bit when you're starting out, but it's best to avoid the over the top kipping method! Some gyms have assisted pull up machines - they're pretty good.

  • The funny thing about this is how I am actually doing a bit of kipping right now just to start my practicing on how to do a muscle-up. I am at that point from your turtorial video on where you want to come up, out, and around the bar to do a muscle-up instead of just straight up. I am doing that little bit of kipping like you showed in that video (I think it was the #2 tutorial on muscle-ups) where I am not coming up over the bar just yet. Is that bad??
