One thing I like about how the Brits do this stuff is that at the end you get a nice word of encouragement if you don't suck. Just a nice "Good show" does wonders. In USMC Boot all you get is negative reinforcement. If you do well (or even the best in the platoon) you don't hear a single word of encouragement. It's just a big constant mind-fuck.

@hessy11 - to be fair, the gloves make it more dangerous in a sense, as the striker is able to throw stronger punches without fear of damaging their hands. Gloves might reduce the severity of cuts to the victim's face, but they certainly won't protect from concussion or whiplash...

I look back at my service and joined for all the right reasons to serve my country but when I left I went to work for a forces charity and i see the results every day of being a Regular Solider

Men liveing in cardboard boxs on the streets I dont point the finger at the Soilder far from it I point it at all goverments

Just look at the deals our US buddys get free flights to vets even there reserve have pensions

OK we get the message, soldiers stupid, government bad, veterans living on the street. I know a lot of ex forces guys and they're all doing well for themselves.
