Amebix were blinding at this time. Brings back memories. New CD is great too.

AMEBIX WOULDNT HAVE EXISTED IF IT WASNT FOR MY UNCLE EDDIE,he taught the guitarist to play banjo back in '76-stig originaly wanted to play in a bluegrass/skiffle stylee but the other members would have none of it-though it is a little known fact that there is a demo out there, with bluegrass versions of 'sunshine ward' also 'progress' with an instrumental solo harmonica demo version of 'carnage'-flux and spiderleg records completely refused-point blank to release them on vinyl on-tossers! ;)

@budalo Amebix have said many times that they don't rate Venom at all and that Venom have had no influence on them. Venom suck.

Amebix took inspiration from Motörhead (and to a lesser extent Lemmy-era Hawkwind), Black Sabbath, and Venom, combined with an ethos and worldview akin to Crass. They were also influenced by various post-punk and Gothic rock bands, including Public Image Ltd., Bauhaus, Joy Division, and especially Killing Joke.
