Avant-garde is actually a form of art, therefore that fact alone doesn't dismiss this video as "pretentious". Whatever you get from it is whatever it is. Understand that and it'll actually have meaning, instead of blowing it off and calling it stupid.

It's just overly "artistic" horse shit.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore Xiu Xiu, but stupid try-too-hard-to-be-avant-garde videos make them look like pretentious assholes.
If you're going to make an artistic video, don't try so fucking hard to make it artistic.
