It is impossible to really hate the Chinese. All they wanted was to have control of their own country. Alot of people don't know that the western powers promoted and even encouraged drug addiction. The Opeum War is an example. Britain declared war on China because the Chinese Government was trying to stop the drug trade in China and cutting into private and government profits.

The foreign armies raided the country, killing anyone they thought were boxers, looted, and raped. Not making this up.

Greatest film ending ever...tear jerker! Beautiful Music! My dad's favorite movie, he was a Colonel in the Marine Corps and recently passed away. We are having the theme music of the little orphan girl played at his Camp Pendlton Memorial March 20, 2013. My dad was a Korean war veteran, and was at the battle of Chosin reservoir. Semper Fi dad...we miss you terribly!

I agree. Amidst all the vast spectacle of this epic, this tender human moment is my favorite in the whole film. When I saw this for the first time in the theater, I'm not ashamed to admit that I got very choked up.

I have this movie at home and absolutely love it. But then, this movie came from an era where a films success or failure was based on the story line, the acting talent, the location shooting, and the studio shooting. Back then, nudity, sex or special effects were not needed.
