Demo Reel Breakdown:
(All animations use the Generic Rig v1.2.2
Copyright: Ian Jones 2005)

"walkcycle"
-I tried to pay attention to all parts of the body and their relative cyclings.

"Generi jogs in place"
-I was wondering whether to make a runcycle that moved or ran in place, then I thought "why not actually have the character run in place?" I've never seen anyone do that kind of run before except in Warner Bros. cartoons.

"Generi takes off stage left"
-A dramatic, cartoony way to get the character off the stage.

"Generi takes off stage left-
keyframe thumbnail drawings"

-Here are the drawings I did to work out the keyframes for the "takeoff" animation. I'm trying to go for dynamic, cartoony poses and readable silhouettes.

"runcycle"
-I tried to make all different parts of the body move, all cycling in turn.

"Lip-Synch exercise: Selections from The Matrix featuring
Generi as Agent Smith"

-As an exercise in exaggerating lip-synch and gesture, I animated these three snippets of dialogue from the awesome Hugo Weaving. He enunciates his words so clearly it's a pleasure to lip-synch his lines.

"zombie walkcycle"
-Generi plays the part of a zombie. Various parts of his body don't work and flop around gracelessly.
