World War II -101st Airborne - Glider Division Story - "Ties"

I wrote, directed, produced this short film awhile back. I used 8MM footage that my Father shot in the late 30s and early 40s before he joined the Army and ended up in the Signal Corp of the 101st Airborne. I also used my own footage shot more recently and intermixed the two. The story is inspired by actual v-mail letters that my Dad sent back home to his family and from recollections of his high school days and how his Mother coped with her son having gone off to war in Europe.

We built the fuselage in the stage at Loyola Marymount University. We spent days on it, and were still painting parts of it when the actors came in. We had guys jiggling the glider, and we got the guys/soldiers inside to move in a certain pattern. Glad you liked it!
