Probably depends on where and when you went to school. Indeed, I was taught that Australia is an island, a country and a continent. There is disagreement as to what defines a continent, which I guess boils down to whether one is guided by geophysical reality, by history or by geopolitical expediency.

HAHAHA!! "Direct Assualt" is hilarious! Creationists/Theists seem to take shitloads of offence that we don't believe what they believe. It's almost like they're rejected suitors that get all obsessive and become stalkers. They just can't seem to get over the fact they're unwanted and unneeded, and we can't be assimilated and controlled by their Church. It fucking bugs them something awful. LMFAO! This batshit crazy rim-skimmer is attacking Atheists like it's nobodies business.

I live in Australia and I cant see the paradox at all. By the way Australia is not the largest island it is the smallest continent.

@Squagnut No Australia is not an island. Australia was part of Godwanaland the orginal continent. It is sitting on a continental plate and was not formed like islands. Islands are formed by upwellings of magma through plate boundaries or weak points in the Oceanic plate or by mountains formed at oceanic boundaries due the pushing together is plates. Just because we are not attached to another continent does not make us an island. The only was to look at it is geological.

As far as the Bible is concerned, Australia doesn't exist. But it *does* exist, how's that for a paradox? :P

Uh, huh; oooookay, then.
Was that huddled mass of particles yearning to breath free?

@jerico641 No. People yearn, horses want, but subatomic particles act out their desires even before they have them.
