  • I can't understand why everyone thinks this is superb. It's off-key in several places. I love the sound of boy sopranos/altos, but this is very flat in sections.

  • Yes. You have right that every note isnt really clean. But the boy was just around 10 years old when he sang this. So I think it is good.

  • Oh! Just one time? I hope you will get Christmasoratorium on CD its beutiful

  • Yes it is a very good try, he is only 10 or 11 years old here, and now he sings even better.

  • Yes it is. But I think I like Christian Immlers boyalto vocie more, but Fredric is a really good singer too. Maybe he is pusching the notes too much sometimes. But still, he sings really good.

  • It could be nerves. Besides, how can if get ready if he doesn't have the experience :) I think he does a good job. It's not perfect. But hey, how many 10year olds do you know who can sing this?

  • lovely lovely alto voice. and the look on his face for that first note...priceless

  • Since my last post of 17 hours ago I have had the opportunity to listen to this more than several times. This might sound off topic but I see in this boy similar patters of physical movement and approach I have seen in the boy soprano Alexander Lischke. While their voices are entirely different I see in it these similarities between these two trebles, although Alexander tends to move more than Jost while singing.. This is perhaps a result of their similar training more than anything else.

  • Personally I think this boy sings this aria well , despite his young years. not many 10 year olds that I've ever met could even hope to do this on the best day of their lives. While his rendition is not 100% accurate - it is well pleasing and well performed. His voice, IMHO, will go down in the history of trebles as one of the best in recorded history and this by no means is an easy task !

  • I wish that I could sing that well when I was 10 or so. I had to wait until I was older when my voice stabilized to be able to sing decently. Also, my elementary school was a virtual desert when it came to vocal music.

  • que niño tan salao, ¡ y que bien se lo pasa cantando¡ ¡ felicidades¡

  • this video captures one of the great moments in the history of music performance. As always I am in total awe of GSG and Bravo to master Frederic Jost.

  • Fredric Jost was extremely well prepared when he successfully sang this aria.

What bothers me most is that i could never have sung like that.

bless this young man because he´s great.

  • fantastic voice. Congratulations

  • tritonusgesang:

    ...und wohl auch Freund.
