When you have the choke on full, opening the throttle all the way allows more fuel to be sucked into the combustion chamber. You only nee to keep the throttle open all the way for the first couple kicks, then backing off and keeping choked is usually enough. This is the most efficient way to start em, as with just about any carbi injected engine.

What exactly does "timing too high" mean? are you refering to the idle or are you suggesting that the timing is too far advanced? If you are then you must be the best wrench in the world to have determined that from such a short clip. Could you also smell if it was running rich too?
