The Paul Chen Agincourt Sword is built tough. It is full tang and the tang is peened rather than being bolted for durability. These are destructive tests and should not be attempted by an untrained individual without martial arts experience.

  • I got my Agincourt sword, but when I tried testing it on a mere plastic bottle, not only did it not cut, the hilt and guard became so loose I returned it for a replacement. Now I am afraid to even test the new one for fear with will get screwed up like the first one. Did anyone else have this problem with the sword?

  • @TheNotoriousCheeto never had prob with the agincourt loosening up at guard until i tried estructive testing, then only a slight rattle. i have an older model. this sword is not meant to be razor sharp... it is meant to fight against armor

  • @TheNotoriousCheeto The first sword you got was probably faulty. I got this very same sword not long ago and aside from the hilt rattling a bit, its a very good sword. I've tried it out on trees and its done well, although I've been told using a sword on trees is not a good idea and so I wouldn't recommend doing that. The new replacement you got should be fine.

  • @YouthFreedomFighters sorry to hear your hilt was loose from box... but NO a sword cannot properly take what an axe can with a tree since there is difference in weight and balance. a sword is designed for primary purpose to strike another sword and kill a human, and an axe is designed for primary purpose of strike tree

  • @SirTreSwordReviews A good sword should be able to hold up when being used on a tree. After all, if a $20 axe that I get from a local hardware store can hold up against trees, than a well built sword that costs over $100 should also hold up. The hilt was loose when I first took the sword out of the box, before I tried it out on the tree. As for getting it to stop wobbling and rattling around, I've been thinking about using epoxy for that.

  • @YouthFreedomFighters u shoulnt actually strike a tree w/ ur sword. these types of tests are referred to as destructive testing and as well built as this sword is it can still cause problems. but to only have a rattle afterwards is still good. peened doesnt allow it to be tightened up tho. there is a tutorial on SBG that shows a way to tighten

  • @SirTreSwordReviews My Agincourt sword just arrived. I tried it out on a tree. Its a really good sword. My only disappointment is that the hilt is a bit loose and will rattle around.

  • @SirTreSwordReviews I see, well ever try using an Angelsword? They're as expensive as heck but they're really good swords.

  • @YouthFreedomFighters brass furniture looks way better but when u want durable and such the steel guard would be better. i believe you will be extremely happy with purchase. and should you ever want to change the edge let me know i will give you some advise.(dont go to knive or lawnmower blade shop for sharpening it will ruin the heattreatment.

  • @SirTreSwordReviews Well I just sent away for the very sword that is being reviewed in this video. Its of the price range I was looking at, and it was a hard decision as there were some other swords I was looking at such as the Brass Hilt Crusader Sword which gave tough competition to the Agincourt over which sword I would get.
