The Davos Debates competition invites everyone to upload a one-minute video highlighting their ideas on the importance of inclusive growth - a key theme at this year's Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum. The winner will be the creator of the best video and will be selected as an informal YouTube community representative to participate in the Annual Meeting in Davos and take part in a special panel during the event.

The Davos Debates provide a unique opportunity to take part in the Annual Meeting from 26 - 30 January 2011. It is an amazing chance for a member of the general public to interact with world leaders and contribute to the discussions.

The competition runs from 8 December 2010 to 14 January 2011, and the winner will be announced on 17 January. The World Economic Forum will provide the winner with round-trip transportation and hotel accommodation for the event.

The winner will also co-host the Social Media Corner in the Congress Centre, which will serve as the central social hub to reach out to the general public to discuss a range of topics related to the Meeting's official theme, "Shared Norms for the New Reality". The Social Media Corner will have two video stations where participants are encouraged to reply to the videos uploaded by the YouTube community. The aim is to encourage an open and direct dialogue between world leaders and the general public.

  • Awesome! I have an idea for Inclusive Growth, but I have little experience making videos, I'll be working on it, have my friends criticizing it and then uploading in a few weeks! Thanks for this great opportunity!

  • @augustoleonidas looking forward to your video!

  • When I was a child my mom and dad would read me stories like this before going to sleep...The main topic at Davos 2011 is more for them less for the people and papering over their failed economy. Good luck with the $100 trillion. Oh and I'm sure there will be the usual speeches about too many people on the earth and how they can help.

  • @thedavosquestion How long should the video be? and how much of the idea should I present in the video? Is there any link where I can see the solutions that were provided last year ?

  • Cannabis cures climate change.

If we want to survive, then we have to plant Cannabis, everywhere, right now.

Short explanation:"monoterpenes" block UV-B radiation. Monoterpenes are volatile organic compounds that reflect solar radiation away from the planet and seed cloud formation. Monoterpenes are what make pine trees and Cannabis so aromatic. Climate research done on Earth's boreal regions show that monoterpenes serve as atmospheric 'sunscreen' for the Earth.

  • @thedavosquestion Thank you! am working on it! cheers

  • I very much hope that Recep Tayyip Erdogan makes a speech again

    (the Ottoman must be present)!

  • Cut off the free checks, but provide training/schooling & job searching skills. Then job seminars, so they can enter the work force. Then cut them loose to sink or swim & earn your meals. No more free checks & this country will recover.
