How to make a walking / jumping game with Flash CS4 (Part 1/3 - Character design)

This three part series will explain how you can create your own Flash Game with CS4, where in which a character will be controlled by the arrow keys, and jump with the space key. It will give you an insight into the basics of a more complicated game (Such as a platformer).

The first part deals with the character design + animation, and background design. The second will include all the script. The third will show you how to make a Virtual Camera to follow / scroll with the player as he walks.

This will work with CS5, CS4, CS3, Flash 8, MX 2004. Note that you need to use ActionScript 2.0.

@TheUrbanBanana - Those, I'm guessing, are objects. Turn off 'object drawing'. There's a button for it somewhere near the tools pallette - or press 'J' on your keyboard (:

@osmanlitorunu1990 You have to double click the symbol first. That way you can get INSIDE the symbol to select a different leg/arm/body part

Hey, when I tried to put actions on the different frames with "stop" and "gotoandstop" actions, they were copying each others actions. Meaning when I put gotoandstop action on the last frame it was an action on all the frames instead. How do I fix this?
