Looks like a water screen to me. Is it just me or do I see it shimmer when they zoom in at the end?

It's not perfect. Some of the focus of the laser is going to be below the desired height.

So, let's see: there's a laser that can be refocused at will and is powerful enough to turn air into plasma. If the laser was programmed to create those balls of plasma in a straight line, let's say a 3-feet long line, and the apparatus was small enough to be carried by hand, we'd get... A LIGHTSABER!!!

A larger version would be perfect for continuing UFO conspiracies.

It's focused laser light turning the air at the focal point into a plasma (like lightning).

The technology is not perfect, but they have to start somewhere. So this seems a good place to start from. I'm sure the technology will become safer and better as it progresses and moves on.

if we can make it a high enough resolution and different color it would be the perfect volumetric display. (something must be done about the noise)
