At the beginning, Chairman Kaga said that Michiba was a defending champion. However, Fukui said that Chen vs. Sakai was the first battle between 2 Iron Chefs ever. So, how did Michiba won the 1994 champion title?

In 94', there weren't any Iron Chefs battling each other. It was other challengers and Michiba.

just a comment, its Michiba's chopping skill...i see the way he sliced out the top of that fruit with struggling...don't you think it's quite not skillful when comparing to those natives who got skills in chopping coconuts...they use broad knives to chop out the coconuts' tops with 3 slashes in less than 10 seconds
