Wouldn't do any good to shut the plant down. The problem is keeping the fuel rods cool. No pumps no cooling = meltdown. So big choice to either let the river try to keep the rods cool or melt down.

This is why I was against nuclear power since the 60's. NO WAY to deal with the spent fuel rods. OH yea when the get cool enough you can make ammunition projectiles to spray all over the brown people.

Some experts believe the Fukushima plant was deliberately exploded because the wave could not have caused the damage, just like experts believe 9/11 The World Trade Centre buildings were brought down by explosives, not the planes.
