as a county planning commisioner we have dealt with pig farms several times. the neighbors always protest. but there are systems that work very well and there is no other place for them but the country. if you move to the country you might smell manure

How about smaller operations like we used to have. The country didn't smell like that then. Maybe because the smaller operations didn't spread 3 million gallons of liquid pig s*&t on the surrounding countryside every year, or pile dozens of dead animals outside their back door for weeks at a time. Or spread liquid manure on frozen ground just above sensitive waterways. Or lower my property value by over $5k, by doing these things in the name of the big agriculture corporations.

Crowded, confined pigs did not harbor a mutation between TWO Bird Flues, swine flu, and human flu.

How about a building in Mexico that was a chicken house.... closed down.... converted to hog confinement.... and a worker there with human flu. LOL. Not probable, but it could happen.

Consider governments common use of fear for control.

Do you know how close Mexico is to revolution.

If one considers the Government helps, one must be mentally challenged.

Apply your own test of what is reasonable, and seems plausible, determine "What are the odds", and make your own judgments based on those assumptions. We live in a gray world....
