@Sing4ever9 if you write in romaji (or in alphabet, what you may mean by 'English'), the letter will delivered, so i think you don't have to worry about it. once i send a letter from Kyoto to Tokyo (in other words, from inside Japan to inside Japan) written in romaji and wrote 'via air mail,' and it delivered. so you can write in both way ;-)

Since you brought up the issue of Japanese post offices, I figured this would be a good opportunity to ask this;
I have a friend who is a foreign exchange student from Japan and I let her sign my year book. When she signed it, she gave me her address in English AND Japanese. Here's my problem; when I address a letter to Japan should I write the address in Japanese or English?
