India indeed is the 2nd fastest major economy after China. As far as poverty is concerned it is rapidly coming down. In 1998 Pak per capita GDP(nominal) was 450$ and India's was 320$. Today Pak's per capita GDP is 1050 $ while India's is 1072 $. So our per capita GDP grew 3.5 times in the same period when your per capita GDP grew 2.5 times. We are still running much faster than you even today without the crutches of UN life support,Kerry Lugar bill or friends of Pakistan.
