@G0lfYankee ok first of all, I was joking, that didn't seem to get through. Piers Morgan: if you need me to explain, I won't be able to. Robert Pattinson: "actor" is pushing it, more like bleached rawhide stretched over a very pretty skeleton that can walk around and stuff. Pat Condell: is he the "intellectual figure"? try pissed off comedian who reads the Daily Mail too much. We have freedom of speech, so we have bad artists expressing themselves too, but you keep a lock on that stuff right?
-
@kyebean Explain a string of successful actors, musicians and intellectual figures? Besides the idiot YouTuber QQOQQ, I don't see a problem with any of those people. David Dickinson is a mild-mannered antiques expert ... what the hell kind of problem do you have with him? You don't like the Spice Girls? Well fuck, I don't like Britney Spears. What's your point?
-
@G0lfYankee If you guys are so good at suppressing horrible expression, explain Piers Morgan, Robert Pattinson, Pat Condell, Spice Girls, David Dickinson, The Daily Mail and QQOQQ of course. I guess the problem is you can't even point out what an asshole someone is without getting sued for libel.

@kyebean Well so long as you're happy with the laws you're bound by, that's all that matters really. Here he'd be suppressed to death, in America he's free to be ignored. Whatever works for you.

@G0lfYankee "Clear and present danger" WAS the supreme court standard for limiting the first amendment (freedom of speech). In 1969 it was replaced by "imminent lawless action". Under this standard, the speaker must intend to incite a violation of the law that is BOTH imminent and likely. Both the obsolete and even more so the current standard do not apply to what was said in this video. Whatever danger he poses, we wouldn't be aware of if he was prohibited from expressing himself.

@kyebean I agree. Mostly. The only point we seem to differ on is that, as you said, calling for the death of gays makes someone a dangerous lunatic - if they are so obviously unwell and present a clear and present danger to others, there should be intervention from the law. Clearly you don't agree. But c'est la vie.
-
@G0lfYankee Totally agree that "freedom" is not a universal solution, only retards like Ron Paul think that. People should be within national law to say essentially whatever they want unless they are breaking a legal oath or harassing someone. Organizations can still fire people etc. for saying the wrong thing. "calling for the death of gays" is not a crime at all, it's just them revealing to everyone what a dangerous lunatic they are. Hurting feelings is not a federal crime lol.

@kyebean Oh hi! Blimey, it's been what ... a month? Anyway ... blah. I think my point was that unilaterally applying "freedom" to everything is stupid. There are some things people shouldn't be free to do or to say. *In my opinion*, America offers too many protections for "minor" offences (like calling for the death of gays) and too harsh a punishment for major offences (like suspected murder). American society swings too far left and right. It should be more moderate.

@G0lfYankee Okay again: A college dude says to his roommate "you're gay bro" he has uttered an insult and should now be imprisoned???? No "mental" people in power? that's just hilarious buddy. Yeah the Republican party is a fucking laughing stock, what does that have to do with free speech? I think just about everyone is "anti-abortion". Never seen signs saying "get knocked up and terminate the fetus, it's the best!!!" The repub candidates are PRO religion, obviously. U make no sense.
@WildwoodClaire1 Noticed you comment regarding German history. Are you familiar with Dr. Richard Weikart, author of several books on evolution and Hitler (as in one leads to the other) and fellow of the Discovery Institute? If not, look him up here on YT- I'd be interested in your thoughts.

@BigIdeaSeeker Well, I think it is easy to judge my reaction to any claim that Nazism stems from the Theory of Evolution.

I hate this guy's hypocrisy. One minute he's saying that homosexuality is bad, then at the end of the video he says he is gay and likes it?!?! What's with the self hate?
Parabol0086 1 month ago
@Parabol0086 I edited that bit of video to comically illustrate how easy it is to take comments out of context, ala Fox "News."

Only part I didn't get was the "Jaques Steinberg" thing. How was that funny?
