Check out PrairiErth Farm's quick Hoops/Row Covers

There has been a lot of talk about extending the growing season. This is kinda' our first stab at it, we are constructing a hoop house that is getting close to being done, but with about an hour's work, we were able to construct two 40 foot long row covers. We have bent 20, 10 foot pieces 1/2 inch electrical conduit using a tool from Johnny's Seeds called the "Quick Hoop" bender. It does a nice job of making similar shaped hoops for 6 foot wide beds. The plastic is not greenhouse plastic, just standard plastic one would get from a hardware store since we are experimenting here. Tonight 2/4/2010 we are expecting about 3 inches of snow so we will see how it holds up!! Check back for updates we'll try to get a video of it with snow on the structure.
