haha, I'll be playing a similar version of this with U-Jay at the Woody Herman festival in Milwaukee next weekm playing with the drummer who I think is in this, Joe Pulice.
Kind of Ironic. He wen to the same school I am now with my dad, so my dad knew him and now I'll be playing this song with him, sweet.

Thanks for this. I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Herman live on three occasions. First time in a huge arena (he was part of a BIg Band conclave) Second tine a dinner theater, and the last time in a small nightclub -- where I got to meet him. He signed an LP for me, which I treasure. Back in the 80's I was working the cruise ships with my act. I turned down a NCL booking on the Norway as the rumor was it was going into dry dock - it didn't. This was the cruise I missed.

As a big band leader and arranger for jazz music,I cut my saxophone section even smaller. I put in more brass to do the Ferguson and Kenton charts along with my arrangements. The only way to play jazz. is to have the band screaming and smokin' with brass.
